As the annual Clonmel dog show approaches, Oralade wants to toast to our first customer, Micky Parker who bought the first bottle of our unique hypotonic formula 12 years ago.
Having owned, shown and judged Dachshunds for over 30 years. Micky currently owns two Dachshund Kaninchen bitches and enjoys taking them on the show circuit, in addition to partiscipation in regular adventures in tracking. A group of my friends and myself take our dogs to a local wood where we set trails for them to follow and I suspect they enjoy the seeking and tracking adventures more then the shows.
Micky will be at Clonmel this year as it is a landmark date in her diary. It is the largest dog show in Ireland, it is well organised and great fun.meeting up with friends, and any new Dachshunds and catching up with progression of the breed. As a widow Micky’s dogs provide the constant companionship and unconditional love that only man’s best friend can. In addition to being top show dogs they are part of her family.
Kaninchen Dachshunds may be small, but they’re a hound and as such are very strong willed. With the right socialisation and care Micky believes they are the perfect breed. The health and wellbeing of her dogs is paramount, which is why Micky has been a loyal customer of Oralade’s for 12 years.
Micky commented: “ Oralade Hydrate+ has played a big part in keeping my dogs fit and well. It’s an excellent thirst quencher in hot weather when we’re at dog shows, and out treking.. It is always in my cupboard for when they are unwell. In fact recently both my girls picked up a nasty vomiting bug on a regular beach walk. They were both miserable. I took them to my Vet as neither were eating or even drinking, which is a real worry. Thanks to Oralade Hydrate+ they were able to keep their fluids up, and very soon showed improvement. It wasn’t long before they were back to their usual fun and playful selves.”
Micky Parker is also a Ttouch practitioner helping both people and dogs with this unique method of bodywork and groundwork. She enthuses: “Ttouch is a gentle and calm way to help your animal build confidence and it relieves many issues. It has helped me give my dogs a sense of calmness and a feeling of deep care.”
Micky also believes in sharing her expert advice. When her friend’s 14 year old German Shepherd, named Max, became ill very suddenly, he was offered Oralade Hydrate+.
Max’s Vet approved of Hydrate+ formula and suggested that Max should keep drinking as much as possible. Staying on Hydrate+ for two days helped turn him around. Thankfully he is now fully recovered, and still loves a little Hydrate+ on his dinner. Micky makes sure that there’s always a few bottles of Hydrate+ on hand. Keeping her Dachshunds in peak condition means they’re always ready to work , hunt and play, and that makes Micky happy and entertained.
